I'm Tim
Robinson
and went to St George's Primary School between 1960-65 when, having
passed my 11+, I moved on to Archbishop Holgate's Grammar School. My
family moved away from York in 1968 to the depths of Hampshire where I
remain to this day. In 2010 I contacted a few people via Friends Reunited who were in my class. We swapped names etc back and forth until I decided to put our names and memories up on a web site. The site has grown massively since and in 2012 embraced the Senior School in a section of its own. This section has itself grown rapidly, recently providing a section for the Old Boys Association. The first person to respond was Kath Burton (nee Barratt) who has become a firm friend (after having probably never actually spoken to her at school!). She has been running around York (literally) collecting information from all and sundry and passing it on to me to do the easy bit. Without her efforts the site would be nothing. More recently having been involved in a Facebook group about the history of York I realised that there were many pictures out there from other York schools. Rather than let these be forgotten, rotting in sideboards, I decided to add another section as an archive of York schools' pictures. |
